 Surprise!!!

We couldn't be more excited to be expecting a new baby into our family! Considering I am already halfway through this pregnancy, I thought it was about time to share some updates along with the journey we've been on so far.

If I'm being honest, we didn't come to this decision quickly or lightly. Working through some health trials over the last couple of years, I was always on some form of medication or shot treatment that made it unsafe to get pregnant. We also had our boy and our girl, what more could we ask for?! I just knew in my heart that there was one more baby waiting for us. When the timing finally felt right, we were pregnant a month later! The moment I was able to take a pregnancy test I already knew that sweet baby was joining our family. I think when you put off a decision like that where it was God's will all along, He quickly gave us this baby before we dared change our minds. haha The symptoms came swiftly too ... exhaustion, sore chest, nausea, and acid reflux ... but the comfort they brought along with them knowing that it meant this baby was thriving made me so grateful! 

I remember walking around a Target in early January on a Saturday with my family feeling like absolute death so I grabbed a pregnancy test while we were there. You'd think it was my first time taking one because it took three different grocery store runs to take a test with any kind of result. haha 

I've always taken the tests that have one line for negative or two lines for positive so it was so fun taking one that immediately said "PREGNANT"! That was also the last time these jeans fit ... haha

Telling our kids will go down as one of my all time favorite memories! We wrapped these "big brother" "big sister" books for them to open and had Liam read the cover of both out loud. They still didn't figure it out on their own but they both jumped up and down on the couch with excitement when we said, "Mommy has a baby in her tummy!" They had so much fun telling grandparents, friends, and anyone at the grocery store who would listen, that our family is having another baby! We asked them if they wanted a boy or a girl and Lyla has held to a girl baby while Liam changed from girl to boy now. I think a sister is all he has ever known so the thought of a brother is kind of a crazy concept for him. I know they will be the best big siblings ever and I can't wait for them to feel the baby move. I also get so teary eyed thinking about the moment they'll meet this baby for the first time. Lyla says every day, "I'm having a hard time waiting for my baby." haha <3

It has been hard switching physicians since I delivered my last two babies with one I loved but one of the biggest blessings of being seen in an OB hospital clinic is the many ultrasounds we've had so far! Our first one was only 8 weeks along. Look at this tiny little thing! Hearing that heartbeat for the first time too (155 bpm) made my own heart soar! 

Then again at 9 weeks when we saw the doctor for the first time ... (baby was already doing kicks and squirming around a ton in there!)

And again at 13 weeks ... it was incredible seeing how much the baby grew and changed between doctor visits. 

From week 5 to week 16 I truly felt like I had a terrible case of food poisoning. Everything in the world around me smelled terrible and I ate plain kodiak pancakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some days I'd throw up and the rest I'd just live with debilitating nausea. Survival mode describes it best. I was so grateful to have Nic working from home (he was always coming to my rescue and helping in any way he could from cooking to cleaning our house and everything in between), I truly couldn't have done it without him. I was also rescued many times by family and friends who'd come pick up our kids and keep them entertained while I rested. It takes a village and I'm grateful for mine!

Even when the nausea finally faded at that 16 week mark it was traded for some severe acid reflux. I tried a couple different medications before finding one that has its limits but helps more than the rest. I've had off and on tailbone pain already where my legs will suddenly give out? So weird. One of the biggest struggles this time is lack of sleep. I think I might be getting more when we have a newborn in our house than I am right now honestly. ALL OF IT is worth it though and we can't wait to meet this adorable little person in September!

I felt a few little flutters for the first time at 16 weeks but it was very sporadic after that. It was hard not comparing it to Lyla's pregnancy where I felt her kick at 15 weeks and it was very consistent after that. It added to some anxiety I was working through but we had our anatomy ultrasound last week and it was a giant weight off my shoulders when we learned that baby is healthy and doing so well! As I suspected, I have an anterior placenta this time which is why I haven't felt the baby move consistently up until this point.

We had the sweetest and best ultrasound tech who explained every little detail of what she was looking at. Baby was practically bent in half and facing my spine most of the ultrasound (the position looked so uncomfortable!) and she had to keep bouncing the wand up and down on my stomach to see if she could get some movement to get the pictures she needed. We got to bring home so many cute profile pictures of that little tucked chin and tiny nose! Thanks to a moment of crossed legs and eventually the monitor being turned away, we made it out of there without finding out the gender ... a dream I've had with all of our pregnancies and I'm so excited for that surprise on delivery day!!! Nic joked that he was going to ask her to kick the garbage can for a girl or knock on the door for a boy on her way out of the room. haha He really wanted to know but there is just no way he could keep it from me without accidentally slipping up in some way, I just know it. I'm grateful he is on board with it being a surprise this time! 

Baby is due September 19th making us 21 weeks right now! Trying my best to soak up the time while also being grateful that we are over halfway there. It will be one hot summer! ;) 

Our Christmas Card & Letter 2020

I didn't send a Christmas letter with our card this year but if I did this is what it would have said. 

Merry Christmas!! We hope during this crazy year that this note finds you healthy and well. Like many of you, 2020 definitely looked different for our family but it taught us to cherish the one thing that is most important in the world, time together. Liam's last year of preschool was cut short in March and I became a full time teacher to two at home through the end of May. Our classroom was filled with walks and bike rides around the neighborhood having the hardest time not going to the parks while they were closed, doing Cosmic Kids Yoga in the living room, learning letters, numbers, colors, and shapes at the kitchen table with endless art supplies, experiencing virtual Disneyland rides on YouTube, building towers with magnet blocks, and so much more. The crazy thing is, I had prayed for just a little more quality time spent with Liam before sending him off to Kindergarten ... I didn't know what that would look like or what I was actually praying for in the moment ... but I learned it was this. It was getting to teach him his last few months of preschool and having him home every day with me. It was an answered prayer in the hardest but best way. 

In the summer we took our annual trip to Pocatello and Bear Lake. It is always one of the highlights of our year! Both of our kids have asked many times since when we get to go back. Other than that, summer was quiet. No swimming lessons, Roaring Springs passes, Children's Museum, etc. Instead, we spent many days with our blow up swimming pool splashing in our own backyard! We also transformed our yard this summer into a space we all love! We added a cozy sectional out there, a fire table for s'mores, a swing, beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs we planted with our own two hands. We had a cement pad poured on the side of our home with our hand prints etched in it. 

In the fall, Lyla started her first year of preschool. She LOVES it and wishes she could go more than 2 days a week. She got her first haircut (bye bye baby mullet and hello baby bangs!), learned how to ride her hand-me-down balance bike like a champion, and was completely potty trained night and day by the end of the year!! Proud of that girl of ours!

Liam's school year started 100% online until slowly he went back every other day, to eventually the elementary schools opening full time. He is thriving in Kindergarten ... reading above grade level and making all kinds of new friends! His dream of riding the bus came true, too! He learned how to ride his bike with no training wheels this summer and is the such a good example to those around him at school. We are so grateful for him!

Nic has spent the better part of a year working from a home office! It has not come without its challenges but we love getting to see him more often and spend every lunch together! He has helped the hospital in so many ways through Covid and is officially the first member of our family to be vaccinated! He is always our rock emotionally and physically and he is helped complete more projects around our home this year than he probably cared to. haha We adore him!

Then there's me. Sometimes I struggle to see the difference I make around here until I get sick or something and see many of the plates I keep spinning in the air fall. Then I realize one of my truly greatest strengths is juggling ... schedules, schools, laundry, meals, emotions ... haha! It's a real art! ;) Jokes aside, I our kid's schooling and our home were my labors of love this year. I transformed our kids bedrooms into places that make them both smile and gave me a creative outlet that I really love to express. I finally found answers to the source of the headaches and pain I'd been experiencing for over 2 years and feel relieved to say that I now have coping mechanisms in place to keep it really well managed. It has been a huge blessing!!! 

So you see, 2020 really was filled with a lot of blessings. No matter how many things were canceled or closed, times when we couldn't see family and friends, masks we had to wear, or bottles of hand sanitizer we went through to try and stay healthy. I hope you can see the blessings from your year too. They are there and I know it is thanks to a Savior who is watching over all of us, especially during hard times.

My baby's birth stories are something that I hold so close to my heart. In those moments leading up to and the one very special moment where we meet for the first time, I've never felt closer to heaven. After having not one but two babies spend time in the NICU, it is hard to top the moment when you walk through those doors and get to take your sweet baby home. It feels even better than Christmas morning! 

We are so happy to have her home with us. She is the perfect addition to our family! We love you so much, Lyla!!!

And this is how we feel about it ...

Yesterday we had our 20 week ultrasound and right away the ultrasound tech asked us if we wanted to find out the gender of our baby. She didn't waste a second which I loved because then the entire rest of the ultrasound we got to say, "There's HER hand or HER legs." Nic was holding my hand through the entire moment and looking back, it was absolutely surreal the emotions we both felt in that moment. We said all along that because this pregnancy has been so different than my pregnancy with Liam that we were convinced it was a girl but I can tell you that we were both still in shock in that moment when she actually said, "You're having a GIRL"! 

I absolutely love every minute of being a boy mom but tears of joy rolled down my face because there is something so special about the opportunity of having a daughter and the bond I hope we share. We feel so blessed to be able to experience both! As we tried to see her little profile several times she had her hand right up by her face and it was so sweet but then she finally moved it down a bit and my heart melted even more, look at that sweet girl ...

When I got home from the appointment I wrapped Liam up in my arms and pointed to my tummy and said, "Guess what Liam, you are going to have little SISTER and he confidently said "Yes" back as if he already knew. 

Last night Nic took pictures on his phone of her ultrasound pictures so that he could have them with him while he was away at work during the day and my heart absolutely melted. I fall more in love with him every day, especially seeing him as a dad, and even more now to see his little girl wrapped around his finger.

We all are SO excited to meet little sister in September and love her so much already!!! Look out Nic, let the bow and dress shopping begin! ;)

the first trimester

I can't tell you how happy I am to be 14 weeks today and welcoming the second trimester with open arms! Being on the other side of the first trimester, it seems easier to say that this pregnancy feels like it is going by quickly so far but if you would have asked me that a few weeks ago I would have had a very different answer. For the sake of truly documenting this journey I need to go back several months ... 11 to be exact. 

The Journey to Another Baby ... 

Last April we were beginning to feel ready to grow our family again. We had anticipated to start trying in May but due to a neck injury that landed me in the ER in April, it was important that I finished my physical therapy and got my body to a healthy place where I no longer needed to rely on any form of pain medication. June was that time. My body was healed and our hearts were ready. Without getting too specific (haha), it only took us one time to conceive Liam. With that being said, our expectations were that we would get pregnant again very quickly. As you can tell by the fact that I am only a few months along right now, that wasn't the case after all. Because many of those days, months, and weeks in-between held some of the darkest times in our lives and some that we hold very close, I feel it is important to keep that piece of the story to ourselves. Instead I want to jump ahead to December ... I remember early on that month just falling to my knees in prayer. Truly all I wanted for Christmas this year was to find out that we were expecting and that the baby was growing healthy strong. A couple weeks before Christmas that dreaded time of the month hit, my heart sunk and with it, the idea of a baby being part of my Christmas gift. I still enjoyed every second of the holidays with my two favorite boys by my side and went into the new year hopeful. 

Finding Out ...

Just a few short weeks after Christmas on the morning of January 15th I learned that my Christmas wish did in fact come true! I was a week late and dreading taking a test simply because I had been "late" before with signs that I felt like I was pregnant only to discover I was wrong with another single line staring back at me. But I couldn't sleep and I tossed and turned all night long until finally giving in during the early hours of the morning. I quietly closed the bathroom door behind me in hopes not to wake my sleeping husband. I set this timer and waited for what always feels like an absolute eternity ...

THREE WHOLE MINUTES of pure torture! I spent those moments praying for peace no matter the outcome held while simultaneously shaking with nerves. Then I looked ...

SO much joy filled my heart and the biggest grin spread across my face when I realized we had gotten pregnant at Christmas time!! I quietly crept back to bed and spent the next couple hours in an equal amount of torture waiting for my sweet husband to wake up so I could tell him the news! When he finally did, I whispered the words I had waited hours to share, "Guess what?! We're pregnant!" With the biggest smile on his face and joy filling both of our hearts he said, "We did it!" and hugged me for a long time. It was one of the greatest moments of my life!

How I've Been Feeling ...

Besides the very sore boobs that I did not experience with Liam, I had one blissful week of feeling completely normal after I found out I was pregnant before the downhill spiral began. haha At 6 weeks the nausea started and lasted 24 hours a day. SO much different and SO much worse than my pregnancy with Liam. My stomach was in knots, I couldn't sleep, and 99% of foods and smells made me sick. I dry heaved constantly (honestly wishing to throw up in hopes that it would make me feel better, even if it was only for a brief moment, but never did). I joked with Nic several times that I would much rather go through labor than this nauseous period because with labor it is one day of your life with an end in sight but with this nausea it was constant and I had no idea how long it would last. My doctor put me on medications for both nausea and acid reflux. With the nausea medication came a whole host of other side effects (headaches, drowsiness, and constipation). Needless to say, weeks 6 - 12 were a FUN time. I honestly spent them on our couch in the fetal position while Liam and I watched a whole lot of Netflix. Even in the midst of all of that though, what I was feeling the most was so so grateful and blessed! I knew that feeling sick meant that there was likely a healthy baby growing away!! The last two weeks the nausea has began to subside. I expected the nausea to be gone the moment I hit 12 weeks like it did with Liam but I knew with how bad it was this time that it likely wouldn't be the case. While it isn't completely gone it is much more manageable. In fact, I was able to survive off the medication the last couple of days which means no more side effects! My energy is beginning to come back and I am able to eat more things. Still no peanut butter though (which was a daily staple in my diet before)!

What I've Been Surprised By ... 

How all around different this pregnancy has been than my pregnancy with Liam! Everyone jokes that it must mean it's a girl but my doctor confirmed that not only is every pregnancy different but also harder on my body than the last! haha Thanks Dr. B for that great news! ;) The gender doesn't matter to us, we would be so happy with either! Something else I've been surprised by ... I've heard a million times but didn't quite believe without experiencing it myself is how much quicker I'm showing this pregnancy than I did with Liam. My 8 week bump this time was about the size of my 15 week bump with Liam. haha Thankyouverymuch over achieving uterus!

Best Moment So Far ...

Two weeks ago we had our very first doctor's appointment and heard baby's heartbeat for the first time. The anticipation of that moment was what got me through those hard weeks and it was worth every second of the wait! 156 beats per minute and the BEST sound in the whole world!!!

Big Brother!

My heart could burst sharing this news with you!!! 

Our family is growing and we are so excited to see Liam become a big brother! We can hardly wait to meet this sweet baby in September!! 

I wish I could show you the "behind the scenes" of this photoshoot. It would look something like this ... Nic jumping up and down like a crazy person, chasing Liam, dancing in the middle of a street (no cars in sight) all to make Liam giggle and smile for these pictures! So entertaining to watch! ;) Nic Williamson, you are my hero.

I have so much I want to share about the first trimester so far but if it hasn't been obvious, morning (ALL DAY & NIGHT) sickness hit me about 6 1/2 weeks ago and I've been surviving in the fetal position day in and day out ever since. It is getting a little better each day but is still very much present. I promise to update again soon as I'm feeling more like myself. Until then, thank you for sharing in our joy! XO

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!! Or as I recently learned, some say Merry Christmas Adam! 

By the time I had Liam's newborn pictures/family pictures taken and back to me, it not only was time to get birth announcements made and sent out but also Christmas cards as well. I found the perfect card this year through Shutterfly that combined both events. Genius! I LOVE how it turned out! So there we are... had a beautiful baby boy this year who was our best gift of all and a very Merry Christmas to you!

Our little Liam Rex was born in the quiet hours of the early morning on October 20th. He surprised us both and came 2 weeks early after my water broke Saturday evening. He is the sweetest and strongest little boy and we already can't imagine our lives without him. We absolutely adore him and are so happy to finally have him home with us. We love you Liam!

my golden birthday + a gender reveal

Yesterday was my birthday and a very special one in fact. I turned 24 on the 24th therefore it made it my golden birthday. I have looked forward to this birthday for several years and always hoped I would do something special/memorable for it. I never imagined I would be pregnant, finding out the gender of our baby, and crossing something off my bucket list all in the same day!

We had our first ultrasound in the afternoon and holy heavens I about peed my pants right there on their waiting room couch. It turns out 32 ounces of water, 45 minutes before an ultrasound for a pregnant lady is total torcher! Luckily they let me use the bathroom right before going back otherwise I don't think it would have been as comfortable of an experience. haha The moment the ultrasound tech squirted the gel on my tummy and our baby showed up on the screen I was completely mesmerized. I will admit, the majority of the time I didn't quite understand what I was looking at because she kept switching angles and the baby kept moving positions but it didn't matter because all I could see was this sweet little squirming baby that Nic and I had been dying to see.

She began walking us through each body part and had both of us nervous at times when she would pause for long periods of time to zoom in or take measurements without saying anything. We found relief in the moments that would follow with "everything is looking healthy and perfect". When she got to the gender she asked us if we wanted to guess and while it seemed SO obvious, we were both still afraid to guess wrong because seriously, what I thought was the head a moment ago now appeared to be on the other side and was now the heart. haha So we left the deciphering up to her.

It was 45 minutes of heaven getting to see wiggles and hear that healthy little heartbeat again. I also beamed when she said the little hand was being laid on under the head... just like how I sleep. :) We walked on cloud 9 the rest of the day!!

As for the bucket list part of the day... I have always wanted to send a floating lantern into the sky and make a wish. It not only was a special moment for the two of us to share as we sent that little lantern into the sky with our wishes but it made for the perfect gender reveal. A big thank you to my father-in-law for being our videographer!

Nic and I are over the moon!!! 

There was something so special about the two of us being the only people in the whole world to know for a little while. It also hardly even felt real when the only signs that I actually was pregnant were two little pink lines on a stick and a little nausea. haha What made it all the more real were two events in the last week... 

On Tuesday, we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. Nic and I stared at each other from across the room as we waited anxiously for what we were told would be a very fast sound compared to my own heartbeat. Silence, silence, silence.... and there it was... 146 beats per minute. Through tears in my eyes, I giggled and smiled at Nic and he was grinning from ear to ear. It was amazing! 

This weekend we finally shared the news with our family and friends and it was SO much fun telling everyone. Each person's reaction to the news was the best! We always wanted everyone to be surprised when we finally told them so no one knew we were trying. There were shouts of joy, tears, and just an outpouring of love for this new little one to come. 

I am currently 13 weeks and just started my second trimester. I was nauseous for about 6 weeks in the later part of my first trimester and pretty tired all the time but the second I hit 12 weeks I have felt great! I am becoming the master of eating mini meals throughout the day. For some reason it seemed to take me a while to figure out that, that's what the baby was needing from me. It must be that I am a first timer. ;) I am due around November 1st so we will be welcoming this baby into the world right before the holidays! We can hardly wait!!!!

Happy first day of August!

We have been excited for this month to come. :)

{A look into what this month holds for us...}

1 :: We put in our 30 days notice for this little apartment of ours. While I'm beyond excited to move into our first home, I also know that I'm going to miss this place. A bittersweet goodbye! After all, it was the first place we lived together and for that alone it will always have a special place in our hearts. 

4 :: Our best friends Beau and Mindy and their daughter Ari are coming into town to visit! They recently moved to Arizona for PA school {boo} and we sure have missed them!

6 :: I am starting my second professional development class for the summer! It is a classroom management slash prepping a classroom for first year teachers class. I'm hoping that I walk away from it that much more prepared to start the school year. 

9 - 12 :: We are headed on a family vaca to a family reunion on my mom's side in the lovely state of Washington. A vacation with my husband who really loves Washington but but has never spent any time in Seattle. What?! Pike Place Market and the Pier, here we come! It will be wonderful seeing extended family that we only get to see about once a year.

13 :: The date that we are supposed to close on our house!!! :) Which also means it is moving day!

15 - 17 :: Road trip to Boise for my step brother and his fiance's wedding! We are very happy for them. He definitely picked a sweetheart!

22 :: Staff Orientation Day which means back to school for me, ahh! How did that get here so fast, yet how did it take SO long! I've mentioned it before but it is a crazy situation when you are hired for a new job in May but don't start until August. The anticipation is full of excitement and nerves for me. 

28 :: The first day of school!

Look at that crazy, exciting month! Hope I'm still standing on two feet by the end of it. ;)

we're moving!

After a brief yet overwhelming experience, we finally made an on offer yesterday afternoon on our first home!! We decided that with two incomes and no kids it was time to stop throwing away money on rent. It has a porch for a swing where we can watch our little ones ride their bikes out front someday and a kitchen with the most gorgeous cabinets. It is such a dream, I can't wait to share more pictures! We're so excited for this new adventure of ours!

the end of something wonderful and the beginning of something even better

A couple weeks ago I had my last day of student teaching with my second graders at Tyhee Elementary. When I applied for my student teaching internship I had 3 completely different schools listed on my application. Tyhee was not one of them. When I had my first interview with the professor over my student teaching internship, she pointed me in a few different directions. I remember walking away from the interview feeling confused and no longer knowing where to student teach. What made it even more confusing was not knowing anything about any of the schools that she had suggested.

After experiencing this semester, I definitely believe it was divine intervention that I felt drawn to picking Tyhee. I had no specific reason to. In fact, on a list of about 4 other school choices, I just made a leap and went for it, truly hoping it would be a good experience. Well, now I can say it wasn't a good experience, it was an incredible one. My cooperating teacher and I were so similar it was unreal. I'm so grateful for these people who taught me more than I could have ever imagined.

After an incredibly intimidating round of interviews, I accepted my first teaching position at Lewis and Clark Elementary in the third grade. I could not be more excited!!! Their colors are even blue and yellow {my high school colors}. How crazy is that! Going back to my roots. While I'm sad to be closing such a wonderful chapter in my life, I'm thrilled to be opening a new one in a place I feel completely welcome surrounded by people who I believe will end up becoming some of my closest friends in the coming months. :) Happy Graduation to me indeed!

dear mister graduate

Dear Mister Graduate,

We did it!!!! As of Saturday you have your Master's Degree and I have my Bachelor's. While it feels like it has been a long time coming... endless hours of homework, stress, and tests... it also feels like it went by in the blink of an eye. When we met you were just finishing up your Bachelor's Degree and considering psychology school in another state. I remember feeling desperate for you to stay and we barely knew each other then. I know it was because, in my heart I knew right away that I could never say goodbye to you. When we got married I still had 2 years left of school. I was on the 5 year plan... ya know, what happens to people when they get crazy and switch their major {a decision I am SO grateful for making by the way}. It was then that we debated whether or not you should get your Master's now. We'd planned on you getting it someday but you hadn't even been done with your Bachelor's Degree long and you were working full time so I'm sure, the thought of working on homework at night did not make it an enticing decision. But man am I sure glad we decided to do it. We finished school like we planned before starting our family and we worked hard side by side the last year and a half to do it. It feels so good to say that it is finally done!! I want you to know that I have never been more proud of someone than you. You are incredibly smart and dedicated to doing what you set your mind to and I admire that in you. We make a great team you and I and I'm ready to conquer this new adult job world with you. :)

Oh hey, it's me.

Annnnnd I haven't been on here since December. Where in the world did these last 3 months go!? All I can say is that I have missed being able to sit down and write something other than lesson plans! But, I'll be working on catching up on a few posts throughout these next few days.

Nic is a lot of things - smart, talented, devilishly handsome. But perhaps one of the things I love the most about him is how much he cares... about me, about his job, everything. His dedication is seriously inspiring. I have never seen someone work so hard at improving themselves. He'll come home from work and tell me all of these great ideas he has come up with that he can't wait to get started on and I just feel my heart swelling with pride that he is doing something that makes him happy. Well you can imagine how I felt when he got a random call last week, completely unexpected during his vacation, from his director offering him a promotion. I guess it is proof that I'm definitely not the only one who notices or thinks his dedication is pretty dang inspiring. 


So as of last Thursday, Nic started a new job. One that puts him well on his way to reaching his occupational dreams. One that meshes his love of health care administration and computer technology perfectly. And one that makes me more proud of him than ever. 

Congrats Mr. Operations Coordinator of Medical Practice! You deserve it and I could not be more proud of you.

Exciting News...

When Nic's clinic lost their manager about 8 months ago, he took on all of the work she left behind. He has been going in early, occasionally staying late, adding a thousand extra tasks to his already busy day, and working so hard for us. At first, the experience was great for him. He was given so many opportunities to add to his resume - opportunities that he would have never been given without the extra responsibilities. The only catch, his job title remained the same. It got to a point where I felt like they were using him and he deserved better. 

His yearly evaluation was on Friday with his director and I made sure he was going to mention something haha and sure enough he did. There are still a few hoops to jump through before it becomes official (paperwork, new badge, etc.) but I came home on Friday to the Idaho Vein Center's new Clinic Coordinator and I couldn't be more proud of him. With that said, it has been a weekend of celebrating around here!

This amazing weekend and all I have to commemorate the weekend are these cheesy pictures we took in the back of a local pet store! Oh who am I kidding, we ARE cheesy. By the way, who seriously buys tarantulas for a pet? I was terrified when I was 10 feet away from the things let alone if one was camping out on my dresser.

Friday we had dinner at our favorite restaurant (Cafe Rio) and caught up on our weekly shows (Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill). Saturday we cleaned, worked out, and did homework in the morning, bleh, but Saturday  night we decided to keep up with the weekend's cheesy theme and saw Chipwrecked. We may have been the only ones in the theatre without children. We stopped at Winco on the way there and each picked out a candy to take into the movie. My guilty conscience was SO obvious I think Nic was embarrassed to be seen with me. Today I'm feeling like I have the tongue of a cat from those Sour Patch Kids. Better not do that again anytime soon.

Today at church we got to teach the little 3 and 4 year olds. Our lesson ended up being short so we let them play with the toys for a few minutes afterwards. One of the girls eagerly grabbed a steering wheel and turns to me and says, "HEEEY, I'm driving and listening to music!" - "Oh yeah?! What song are you listening to?" - "PAPARAZZI!!"

Nic and I both turn to each other a little concerned at first and then died laughing. Way to go Lady Gaga, you stole the heart of a little 4 year old! Highlight of my day.
