march :: according to my iphone pictures
March was my favorite month so far this year! A sweet friend stopped by and gave me that cute little shamrock plant. Every plant I've ever been given I've killed so I have been doing everything I can to change my black thumb to green and take extra special care of this one! I made green eggs and ham for a belated Dr. Seuss birthday/St. Patty's Day celebration! I felt like a kid trying them for the first time.
We added a baby bunny to our family and named her Rue. Love her! She has officially taken over my instagram feed. :) Her favorite spot in the house is in-between the blinds and sliding glass doors... a little sunbather right after my own heart. The clothes you happen to have on that day are her favorite chew toy. She is becoming more and more used to being held. I even got her to fall asleep in my arms for 20 minutes one afternoon and sit on my lap while watching Heart of Dixie. Heaven I tell you what!
Nic took a Friday off over my Spring Break which is a very rare occasion. We had planned to drive down to Boise for the weekend but I was still recovering from being sick all week long so we decided to stick around town instead. A lunch date was everything my Spring Break needed to end on a cheery note. That same weekend we had our first sleepover ever in our living room and look who decided to join us up there ^. I don't know why we haven't ever done one before, it was so fun!
We had a very low key Easter this year but more on that tomorrow. :)
Hope you had a wonderful March!!

a baby bunny
We became a family of 3 a couple weeks ago!
So here's the story...
We were out driving around on our Friday night date. I randomly suggested that we go into the pet store for something fun to do. When we first walked in, there was a wall of cages that were filled with puppies. I've never really been a huge pet person. I'm slightly afraid of big dogs and don't like getting covered in hair and slobber. So while it is fun to go look at the cute animals in a pet store, I'm never really tempted to actually get one. But today was different.
We stopped for a moment to look at this adorable black lab that was only a couple months old and talked about Boscoe, the lab that Nic grew up with. I quickly, and I mean full on sprinted past the row of tarantulas to get to the back of the store. I don't care if those things are in a bullet proof container {which they are not} I don't even want to come within 10 feet of one of them! yeesh! I turned the corner and saw two baby bunnies in a glass cage. I squealed and reached my hand toward the one who was sleeping in the corner against the glass. I fully expected to startle it awake but it just kept sleeping while I petted it. I.ABOUT.DIED. Not even kidding.
I have had several bunnies growing up but they were always skiddish and not so friendly. But not this one. I completely fell in love with this little bunny. We didn't want to make a split decision without thinking about it so we ended up leaving the store. The whole rest of the night we kept talking about that little bunny. We went home and decided to sleep on it. When we woke up the next morning, we drove right back to that store and she has been happily hopping around our home ever since!
By the way, we thought she was a boy at first until her gender was confirmed by a vet. We definitely will NOT be betting on the gender of our children if these are our outcomes. ha
Meet Rue!

february :: according to my iphone pictures
Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays and this year I was lucky enough to get to celebrate it twice :: with my students and with Nic. I found an adorable printable here with swedish fish that I gave as a Valentine to my students. It says :: "So glad we're in the same school!" Half way through the day, a beautiful bouquet of roses were delivered to my classroom from that sweet man of mine. Nothing put a bigger smile on my face that day. :) Well, except for maybe this little boy in my class who gave his crush a teddy bear and a heart shaped box of chocolates. In the second grade guys!!! So cute.
After a loud Valentine's Day party at school, I was ready for a quiet night at home with Nic. We exchanged presents. He surprised me with massage lotion {feels like a dream} and the rest of the Matched series by Ally Condie. He got me the first one for Christmas and I have been dying to read the rest of the series ever since. Too bad I have to wait until summer vacation to find the time for that but it gives me something to look forward to! I gave him some under armor shirts for working out that he had been wanting. We ate heart shaped pizza and chocolate covered strawberries in bed. It was the perfect night. Love you Nic Williamson!

january :: according to my iphone pictures
In January the weather here in Pocatello was crazy cold. Every year when Christmas is over, I am already excited to say goodbye to Winter but mother nature, of course, has other plans. It always seems so long until Spring finally comes. I did however, have a hard time saying goodbye to my Christmas decorations this year hence why that cute little bird I found in the Christmas clearance section at Tai Pan hung around a little longer than the rest of the Christmas decor. It's wintery enough, right?! :)
I finally recovered our living room pillows in a grey chevron fabric that I had been meaning to do for quite some time. I love how they turned out! We also made our first "green smoothies" and have been experimenting with different recipes ever since. This one happened to be almond milk, strawberries, bananas, and spinach... yum!
Towards the end of the month I found those little polaroid frames that we got as a wedding present and somehow got stashed away in a random drawer. They now have a new home on my fridge. :)
