Christmas lights are one of the best parts of the Christmas season! So many of our family traditions surround them ... from decorating the Christmas tree, to hanging lights outside of our home, and wearing our Christmas jammies while driving around to look at lights in neighborhoods.
This year I heard about hot chocolate bombs and had to give them a try! While they were expensive and I'll consider learning to make my own next year, they were so fun to watch melt! I got Liam a space one with rocket ship marshmallows inside and Lyla a unicorn sprinkle one with rainbow swirl marshmallows. After you pour hot milk on them they disintegrate.
We poured them in thermoses and hoped in the car for our annual driving around to look at Christmas lights one night. Lyla's favorite thing to say right now is, "Look, Niam's favorite color! (blue) or "It's my favorite color! (pink)". haha
Another favorite, the Scentsy Christmas lights! It was packed this year so masks were necessary but they added on to their already amazing lit up grounds and it was a fun Friday night activity.
My mom met us there too!
This was their addition ... a massive Christmas tree with a light show! It was unreal how big it was in person! Look at tiny little Lyla standing on the fence below ...
I was so thankful it didn't rain this year because after last year's experience, both of our kids went home completely drenched from jumping (or in Lyla's case, falling) in puddles.
Our newest tradition ... World of Color! I've seen friends and family who live in Utah sharing about this drive through light show experience from their cities but have never lived near one until they added it at the fair grounds in Boise this year. We rolled down the sunroof and let the kids hang their heads out all of the windows ... it was so much fun! The radio station they had their music synced up to played the best Christmas playlist ever. We went out for ice cream after and it was the best night!
She thought it was so amazing sticking her head out of the sunroof and watched the whole show that way. ;)
This reminded me of an ice tree that Elsa from Frozen would have made ...
I love the Christmas season and all of these fun traditions we have as a family that make the holiday so special!
