First of all, thank you to those of you who reached out to me and sent messages about Rue. Each day gets better and does my heart some good knowing she isn't hurting. I took the kids to the river today and we found some special heart shaped rocks to put by the place where we will bury her.
I feel like just a few days ago I wanted to hang on to every last second of summer but am finally to a place that I'm looking forward to the start of a new school year and the changing of seasons. I've noticed my tolerance level and patience is much shorter and in need of schedules and routines in our lives again. We have 2 weeks left and I'm doing my best to make the most of it!
I've loved summer time in our backyard this year ... our patio gets just enough shade to squeeze the swimming pool on it so I don't have to worry about sunscreen or the kids playing in direct heat. We've played with squirt guns out there, the hose, shovels, and even filled the pool with water beads. A bunch of those memories in pictures ...
This is why we gave them each other ... a built in best friend!
My blue eyed girl ...
My green eyed boy ...
Her first time playing with the hose, she tried getting a drink of water and splashed her entire face. haha
pre and post meltdowns. Still the cutest!
Painting rocks from our yard ...
Squirt gun fights!
Trying to scoop up water beads ... every single time, she'd lift the shovel too fast and they'd all fall off before even coming out of the water.
So she'd scowl. haha Always has more than she can carry in her arms ...
Endless hours of entertainment, even for us adults!
Her two sweet tiny birth marks on her upper back that I love so much ...
Post swimming snuggles in the swing ...
The final countdown to the end of summer is on. XO
