Liam started his second year of preschool last week and while I missed him so much on his first day, it was so nice to be back on a schedule again and have a little sense of normalcy since moving. One of the hardest parts about moving in mid-August was trying to find a preschool that still had openings and wasn't crazy expensive. That's what made it feel serendipitous when we found Ms. Amber. After calling around to several preschools in the area that turned out to be no-goes for whatever reason, I had a few old friends recommend hers to me and it just so happened that she had a student who had to drop out last minute and had ONE opening left. Her preschool is by word of mouth only so she equally felt it was a blessing when I reached out to her to fill the spot. It was the first moment in this move for us where it felt like something fell into place and was meant to be.
While touring the preschool a couple weeks before, Liam hit it off with her son and made his first friend since moving here. When we pulled up to her house on the first day, I could tell he was apprehensive about going inside until he saw this little boy ... he let go of my hand and began running toward him saying "Momma look! It's him!" as he recognized a familiar face and my nerves for his first day washed away with his. It has been the perfect fit ever since! He gets to go 3 days a week this year instead of 2 which I think will be really good for him. And just like last year, every day when I pick him up and ask him how preschool was and what is favorite part was he says, "It was dood, I had gummies for snack time!" ;)
Spread your wings my brave boy! You'll do great things this year, I just know it!
