Happy hump day, friends! I woke up this morning thinking it was a whole day later in the week than it actually was, wah wah, so I'm still recovering over here. haha Thankfully my sweet positive husband reminded me that when I wake up tomorrow morning I get to experience that happy Thursday feeling all over again AND it is his Friday since he has it off from work so #winning, #perspective, and #positivevibes all around! On that happy note ... on to another topic that makes my heart equally filled with joy, planning a baby GIRL'S nursery!
I think the second best thing to dressing a baby girl just might be putting together he nursery! I have always envisioned creating a whimsical mermaid inspired nursery for our future daughter so that is where my inspiration has come from. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that The Little Mermaid was my favorite Disney movie as a child. :)

Isn't that the cutest!?! I get so excited just looking at that inspiration board!
Our progress so far ... my heart was set on a vintage pink dresser and as I mentioned here, we found one that Nic has been painting. All that is left is to install some drawer pulls which will hopefully arrive in the next few days and then I have my eye on these knobs to replace the existing wooden ones. I love the scalloped back plate on them, it reminds me of a seashell. :)
Our next step is to paint the walls a neutral white or grey (they are currently beige/tan and drive me crazy) and hang this beautiful light fixture. Another piece of her room that will remind me of finding seashells on the beach. It is the perfect girly touch, I love it!
Other than the dresser, we already have the crib from Liam's old nursery, his rocking chair which I plan to keep white but might switch out the cushion fabric, and floating bookshelves (which could use a few girly books like this one). I haven't decided between keeping Liam's swiss dot crib sheet in there or choosing between this mint wave pattern or these swans. Loving this rug.
Such a fun idea to use this tiered basket for diapers and bows on her dresser and this wall basket for shoes and headband storage! This basket would be perfect for swaddle blankets, toys, or stuffed animals.
For the decor, most of the mermaid room inspiration began from this Rifle Paper Co. mermaid print which I love so much and this Roald Dahl quote with a felt ball garland above her dresser! It took me a while to convince Nic that the swan head was an adorable idea but I think we just might finally be on the same page. ;)
SO much left to do in this cute space but thankfully we still have 3 months or so to get it all finished! If it goes anything like Liam's did, we'll be finishing the morning I am headed into the hospital to have the baby. haha
