Painting Bunnies

I had every intention of sharing this pre-Easter but the kids had fun adding a bit more paint to this project throughout the holiday season so they weren't quiet ready until basically the day of. Such a cute keepsake and decor piece to add to our collection and it was inspired by an Instagram account I follow called @theeverco. Amy had her little girls paint dinosaurs and Easter eggs and then add cute ribbons too so I thought this would be the perfect activity with bunnies. I need to remember to date the bottoms!

Is there anything cuter than a tiny apron?!

Then there's my strong-willed one ... she wanted so badly to hold and pour the container of paint herself and when I didn't let her, she threw herself down on the living room floor and stayed buried in this blanket for quiet a while, poor girl. Emotions and feelings are so hard sometimes!

She finally let me give her a hug and was happy to join Liam and paint her own bunny.

In keeping with genuine personality, Liam was clean as a whistle after every painting session ...

Lyla was covered from head to toe ... not only that but she managed to stick her fingers in her mouth while they had paint on them and I had a minor panic attack!

Thankfully no children were harmed in the making of these bunnies and I think we'll need to stick to a much more diluted option like water color painting until she gets a bit bigger. haha

How cute did they turn out?!

Easter 2019

Happy Monday, you guys! We are rocking the world's biggest Easter candy hangover at our house today and I've already sent my letter to the Easter bunny to cut WAAAY back on the candy next year and fill the eggs with a different kind of a surprise instead. haha Aside from the sugar crash, we had the best day!

Gave our favorite Rue bunny all the snuggles! Can't believe she has been with us for 7 Easters now!

The Easter Bunny's favorite job! ;) Here I was thinking we were all set for summer with these baskets and both kids had their container of bubble emptied in 5 minutes this afternoon .........

I love these two bunnies SO MUCH!

My lego obsessed boy spent part of the day building the coolest dragon with his dad!

The face Lyla makes whenever she thinks something is cute ,,, haha She always looks more concerned than anything!

I'll give you ONE guess what Lyla's favorite thing from her Easter basket was ...

Dying over this picture! Kicked back and relaxed with an egg full of jelly beans, this is the life!

Lyla last year and this year. She has changed SO much, where did my baby go?!
Then there is Liam ... hahaha He was just a little jealous and wanted in on the fun too!

Next up, Lyla's first Easter egg hunt! We told Liam that the eggs the Easter bunny left on the grass were for Lyla and he saved the tricky ones to find everywhere else for him because he was like a lightening bolt the second we let him outside. He had every last egg spotted and gathered in a matter of minutes. Such a pro this year that the Easter bunny is going to need to get even more creative next year! Surprisingly enough, even though Lyla knew the eggs were filled with candy, she honestly cared less about them. She'd much rather go around our yard collecting rocks and so that's what she did. haha

Finding the giant sucker filled with mini suckers!

He is the cutest!

Can you spot the rock in her hand?! She loved getting to take a turn holding the giant sucker. This one eyed squinty pirate face she makes in the sun will forever be one of my favorite things about her! That and what turned out to be her mini compression stockings. haha

We have a ways to go in the "peace" sign department. ;)

This girl and her jelly beans ... she ate so much candy!

Her daddy took this picture of her <3 p="">

Showing off his loot! The bath bombs were my favorite idea the Easter bunny had.

"Dad, do you want to know what's in the giant popsicle the Easter Bunny left in our front yard?!"

Decorating an Easter picture, covering herself in stickers, and it looks like we have ourselves another lefty ...

After Easter baskets and the egg hunt we had my mom over for brunch. This rainbow fruit salad and Easter Bunny cinnamon rolls I realized after having them the last couple of years are becoming a tradition. We also had egg mcmuffins and my mom brought me that beautiful bouquet of tulips, my favorite!

Church was a bit of a wrestle match with two sugar filled children but my mom came and we got to sing hymns about the Savior being risen and everything else that felt crazy was absolutely worth it for that. I was so grateful for the time I had to reflect both personally and with my family on the Holy Week and the depth of every event that took place during it. I know He lives and I'm grateful I get to live with Him again and be surrounded by my family too because of what he did for me!

We had Easter dinner at Sita's (my mom) house. She made a yummy ham, twice baked potatoes, salad, and asparagus. The kids opened their Easter baskets from her and did one last egg hunt in her backyard which is like a real life fairy garden! The most magical place with the best hiding spots for an egg hunt! So good in fact that we think she might find an extra hidden egg while weeding her yard in the future that could not be located. haha

Me and my snuggly baby bunny ... I love that she's a momma's girl!

Looking so handsome in his Easter best ...

Happy Easter from our family to yours! XO
