the last 4 months in iPhone pictures!

After my old iPhone took a plunge last fall and I lost all of the video and pictures I had taken on it I've made it a priority to frequently transfer them off my new phone and onto a hard drive to be stored and saved. In doing so I realized there are quite a few little moments from our days that I've never shared so here are some fun memories from January to April ...

J A N U A R Y

We got SO.MUCH.SNOW. in January! It felt like it never stopped. That sweet husband of mine was always out there shoveling with Liam watching from the window. Somedays he would get home from work, still be in his dress clothes, and shovel the little bit that had accumulated that day. I had to capture that cute expression Liam made when he didn't know daddy got home from work and ran to the window when he heard the snow shovel ...

Best seat on our walk! He also had a death grip on that snowball even with gloves 10 sizes too big for his little hands haha ...

That picture on the left is looking out our back door!!

Day after day we had to just keep pilling the new snow on top of the old because none of it had melted. The piles on either side of our driveway were ginormous! Liam kept using them as a slide. haha

On the days we weren't stuck inside from crazy snow storms we spent a lot of time at the library. Liam is obsessed with all of their cars and trains (surprise, surprise!) and would hoard them by the arm full and carry them into this firetruck to hide them from other kids. Yes, we are definitely in the thick of learning how to share. No, it is not going great so far!

In his stocking at Christmas Liam got these tablets that you add to bath water and it changes the color. This was the first time we ever did it and he thought it was the coolest thing ever ...

Always finding a piece of mommy's hair floating in the bathtub (#long hair problems).

When we weren't going to the library or playing in the bathtub, we spent a lot of time in Liam's new room playing with all of his toys he got for Christmas. One of his favorite things is this pizza set he got from my mom's sweet friend. He loves cutting the pieces apart and then putting them right back together so he can do it over again. He starts out with pretty good pizza cutting form and then the moment he struggles he grabs onto the blade with both hands. haha Definitely NOT letting him cut anything in the kitchen anytime soon (not that I was considering it in the first place but, ya know)!!!

We had a fun Friday night with our friends, the Southworth's, at an arcade place called Outer Limits and Liam was obsessed with the car racing games! We had to pull him away to play anything else, not to mention when we had to leave at the end of the night. To keep the party going we did something we hardly ever do and went to a restaurant just for dessert! We all shared a deep dish cookie with ice cream from Wingers (basically HEAVEN on Earth!) and while I didn't know it at the time, it was a last hurrah for this girl who hit 6 weeks pregnant the very next morning and was consumed by nausea for weeks after.

In January, Liam was still taking naps in his crib. Some of them so long that I would have to go wake him up so I could take him to tumbling or so he would fall asleep at night. Oh how I miss these days!!!

In February my "morning" (should be called all the live long day) sickness was in full swing and we honestly just survived. Liam was so patient with me and when he wasn't watching a movie or his favorite shows he was coloring. Last year I made these adorable homemade Valentine's with him for grandparents and this year I was lucky enough to have a few heart stickers on hand that he could slap on a piece of paper for Nic and his speech therapist.

I had to get creative and find ways to keep him entertained from the couch so one day I colored and labeled a bar chart on a piece of paper and had him match smiley face stickers to the correct color. He loves stuff like this and is so good at it!

A lot of days working out got my mind off the nausea believe it or not and I would take Liam with me down to the basement so I could exercise. Even now while I workout Liam plays in this fun sandbox we made for his second birthday party down there! It doesn't look nearly as clean as it once did because half the sandbox has been shoveled over the side but that is the beauty of having an unfinished basement in the winter time with cement floors!

In March Liam really started getting animated with sounds while he played! He wasn't talking hardly at all for so long that it has been fun for me to hear him differentiate between all of his tractors, cars, and trains with different sounds now.

We had a bunch of tokens left over from our trip to Outer Limits back in January so we took Liam again one night when I was starting to feel a bit better. I would do anything to see that smile of his and he loved every minute of our time there!

In March we also made the transition from Liam's crib to his big boy bed. I want to share more details, pictures, and a video about this soon so stay tuned for that!

Our local hospital has a teddy bear clinic every year where little kids can bring one of their stuffed animals to the hospital to get a check up! Liam brought his bunny but ended up being so shy and wanting nothing to do with the experience. It was also super crowded so we decided to forget the check up and instead go visit the hospital's helicopter. Liam waited so patiently in a really long line and started pointing excitedly when we finally made our way to the front.

They only gave him a couple of seconds to be inside so he seemed pretty crushed when we had to tell him his turn was all done. He could have spent hours in there if we had let him!

That same day was one of the first nice days we'd seen since winter so we soaked up every minute of it at the park!

Cutest little boy ever in his Sunday best!!!

The first weekend of April the leaders of our church speak at a broadcasted conference that we get to watch from home. So many inspirational things were shared and my heart felt so uplifted by every one! It was also announced that Pocatello will be getting a temple and we are so excited about that!! Liam on the other hand was hard to keep entertained during it all so we made some homemade Easter playdough and it kept him busy for a while!

More Saturdays spent at the park, hello spring! If you weren't convinced before that these two are twins, matching sunglasses is sure to persuade ...

Looking back now the last 4 months seem to have gone in a hurry, just like time usually does, but I'm thankful we have some of these months under my pregnancy belt and we are on to warmer weather and closer every day to meeting this new little person that will be joining our family soon! XO

Union Pacific Steam Engine

Last week a historic Union Pacific Steam Locomotive made its way to Pocatello! According to our local newspaper, the steam engine is said to be on a 1,600 mile round trip journey in honor of the historic Boise Depot's 92nd anniversary. It has been well preserved and looks much like it did when beginning operation in the 1940's!

If you know anything about my Liam, trucks, tractors, and TRAINS are his favorite things in the whole world! This Union Pacific Steam Engine was only stopped in our town for a day so we knew we couldn't miss it. The second we pulled up and Liam could see it out the car window he exclaimed, "WOW!"

What made the whole thing even more special was getting to see it with Liam's Papa (Nic's dad) who spent his career as a railroad engineer! I love this picture of the three generations of boys walking together ...

I spy a tiny little Liam in this next picture ...

It was pretty incredible to be able to get so close to it. You can see that the wheels alone were taller than Nic ...

Because the train wasn't moving, Liam ended up losing interest in it pretty quickly and all he wanted to do after that was jump in the puddles from the rain earlier in the day! haha

Easter Weekend 2017 | Part 2 & a video

Hello Monday! After getting called in and serving as a juror on a trial last week (a very interesting experience for another day!), I'm happy to finally have the time to share with you the rest of our Easter weekend a pretty adorable video at the end of the post! In case you missed them, Friday and Saturday adventures of our Easter weekend too.

The thing I missed most about traveling for Easter this year was attending church so I made a point to have a special Easter lesson and activity during our family night the week before. I filled 12 plastic eggs with a scripture and something symbolic inside to represent the piece of the Bible story about Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. My favorite scripture we read was at the very end that said "

On Sunday morning Liam discovered that the Easter bunny found him all the way at Sita's house in Meridian and the egg hunt began!

It was so adorable watching him struggle to bend over in his suspenders to pick up each egg he found ;) haha ...

My second favorite part was watching him carry his basket with his whole arm! He didn't make it very far before he decided to just set the whole thing down and instead of bringing the basket with him to the eggs, he brought the eggs to the basket.

The Easter Bunny kept in mind that a two year old would be participating in this egg hunt and hid the eggs accordingly (a.k.a mostly scattered all over the grass except for a couple on this fence and one in a tree). And yes, the Easter Bunny got made fun of for it with, "Easiest egg hunt ever!" Liam on the other hand LOVED every minute of it which was such a fun change from last year when he found two suckers in the grass and cared less about the rest of the eggs. haha

Diligently returning one egg at a time back to his basket ...

The hidden egg in the tree took quite a bit of explanation. He also got distracted by a plane flying overhead several times. Two year old boy for ya! haha

Magic suckers growing in Sita's grass!

The suckers were definitely a hit and had to be opened immediately ...

After a good head start on his sugar coma from the egg hunt we figured we had nothing left to lose and gave him his Easter baskets full of MORE candy and toys!

These trucks were his favorite part of Sita's basket if you couldn't tell by the expression on his face ;) ...

Couldn't even put one down to read his new Easter book with Sita, that's pure love right there ...

We got him a plane kite and would you look at that, his favorite part of our basket were more cars!

These ears were MY favorite part and lucky for me, he didn't want to take them off all day! My bunny lining up each new car in a row ...

One thousand and one, one thousand and TWO! Mid candy bite ...

Best dad in the whole world!

Bubble HEAVEN ...

Gosh I love this little boy so much!!!

I can't imagine my life without this handsome husband of mine in it either!!!

18 weeks with my littlest love ...

We spent the rest of Easter Sunday playing rummikub on an itty bitty table on my mom's front lawn (we looked like we were a bunch of old people having a tea party haha), eating the traditional ham and twice baked potatoes for dinner, and sharing dessert at my dad's with cousins! It was a glorious day!

Because of Jesus Christ I get to be with them forever and there isn't any better gift than that ...

He is risen! Happy Easter from the four of us!!! XO
