Liam's baby blessing

Sunday, December 21st was a special day! Nic gave Liam a baby blessing at our church. He did such a great job, I was so proud of him. I'll never forget the sweet blessings he expressed for Liam. It was as if everything I hope for him in his life was shared straight through the spirit and his daddy's heart without even knowing it. What made it all the more special was having some of Nic's family there too. His dad and two of his uncles participated in the blessing with him.

I've never seen a little boy look so handsome. :) A sweet neighbor of ours offered to make him the jacket and pants of his baby tux and it turned out adorable!

This little angel slept right through his blessing and the rest of the church service but by the time we got home, he was starving and ready to get out of his church clothes. Aren't we all. ;) So he really didn't want to take the time to get his picture taken.

I love the silly faces he is starting to make. Especially that one below. He is also discovering his tongue more and more and sticks it out in between smiles.

After the blessing, we invited my in laws and family members who attended over for a hot chocolate bar and cookies. It was the perfect treat right before Christmas! We are so grateful to those who came, it meant the world to us.

Liam's nursery tour

Liam's nursery is my most favorite room in our house. I still remember slowly adding to it over the months as we anticipated his arrival, all the way up until the day my water broke and we went to the hospital. Yes, we were finally hanging the letters of his name on the wall and finishing the storage organizer for the closet that Sunday morning. haha Nothing like waiting until the last minute! ;) I had SO much fun decorating his room. I went with a fairly neutral color pallet all around which I think will be perfect as he grows. I absolutely adore how it turned out!

The polka dots are vinyl wall decals that a friend of mine cut for me. I love the random look so I had fun one afternoon sticking them wherever I darn well pleased. :)

This rocking chair was the one my mom used with me when I was a baby. All these years later, we kept it and it has meant so much to me to have it in Liam's room and use it with my baby. We gave it a little face lift over the summer by painting it white and recovering the chair cushions in a different fabric.

This little basket of toys slips right under Liam's crib. He is just starting to focus his eyes for longer periods of time now when we show him one of his toys but I imagine someday he will be pulling this out a lot to play with.

He was only a few weeks old here. So tiny!

Someday I'd love to add a bunch of frames up and down this wall around our family picture with his artwork in them. Everyone recommended a video monitor when we registered and I have to say it has been one of the best gifts we have gotten since he has transitioned to crib sleeping at night.

Maybe it is the teacher in me or the fact that I love to read, but one of my favorite spots in his room is this little book corner. I love to sit with him in the rocking chair and read to him. I've already had fun switching out the books for our favorite Halloween and Christmas ones with each season!

 His basket of friends. ;)
