Friday's Favorite

I LOVE FRIDAY'S!
they are my favorite
The EXCITEMENT I feel at the end of the day when I know its the weekend
The ANTICIPATION I feel while waiting for Nic to get off work
The ADVENTURES that are in store
and for many other reasons...

I also have another favorite
the people in my life.

I've come to realize that they are the ones
who keep me going when I have a bad day
who love me unconditionally
who sacrifice for me
who make me smile and laugh
who are EVERYTHING

It is the people in my life that I owe everything to.

SO on that note, I've decided to start
FRIDAY'S FAVORITES

A new tribute each week to the people I love
because I know that we can never tell the ones we care about enough, how much we truly love them.

Today I would like to share with you my adorable nieces...

ABBY

When Abby was born I was away at college. I remember coming home and meeting her for the first time. It was for her parents (my brother's) wedding. She was wearing this beautiful little white dress and looked like a little princess.

She went through this chubby stage and was so cute I wanted to squeeze her!

It is hard to believe she will already be 3 in September. It is has been hard not living in the same town as her. It was worse at first because she was so little that each time I came home I would be dying to see her and then she would look at me with this blank stare like she barely recognized me. For this reason, I love the age she is at now. Now she'll call me on the phone and it makes my day EVERY TIME. She has this cute little squeaky voice and says "hi Meggie" which really sounds like she is calling me Mickey. She has the cutest little personality. She has loads of energy and is so fun! She LOVES being outside and looks adorable in a swimsuit!

I love this little girl with all of my heart. I look at her picture every time I'm having a bad day and I instantly feel better. I live for the times when I get to go back home and see her. She is gonna be a little heart breaker someday :)

AVA

Meet my new little niece Ava. She is perfect in every way. She has the cutest little ears that stick out and a smile that can melt your heart in an instant. Just like Abby she changes so quickly and every time I come home I feel like I am meeting a new little girl. I was so happy I was home when she was born. I had never held that small of a baby before and I was terrified I was going to break her with even the slightest movement.

She is quite possibly the cutest little baby I have EVER seen. I hope my babies are half as cute as her someday.

I can't even explain how much I adore these little girls.
They are a precious gift in my life.
They make me so excited to be a mom someday.

MASH

The other night I was trying to think of something fun for Nic and I to do
and then I was taken back to my childhood

When I was a little girl I used to play this game called "MASH" all the time.
For those of you who haven't ever played it before it stands for
Mansion
Apartment
Shack
House

Like any other little girl I used to dream about my future...
The man I would marry...
The place I would live...
The children I would have...

and like any other Disney Princess movie, this game was all about FATE

So Nic and I put our FATE to the test
and found out

We will be living in completely different places
with a different number of children

(if you could see the look on my face right now you would know that this is NOT how I wanted the game to go)

okay okay so it's a silly little game... BUT, it was still really fun! :)

Here are our results:

If we lived Nic's fate

We will....
live in a SHACK
have 4 children
live in SEATTLE
drive a VOLVO S60
CEO of ST. LUKES (which is not located in Seattle) problem haha
pet CHINCHILLA
MAN CAVE

Although we live in the most rainy city ever, in a shack that has to fit 6 people, we will be more in love than ever right?? :)

If we lived Meagan's fate

We will...
live in a HOUSE
have 3 children
live in COEUR D'ALENE
drive a TOYOTA TACOMA (really wanted that LEXUS RX450) haha
AUTHOR
pet CHICK
PIANO

It was a fun-filled evening playing my childhood game
Can't wait to see what the real FATE of our futures holds!

My Dream Self

I worry....
A LOT...
about everything really...
BIG or small
and then those worries reflect themselves in my dreams.
I dream EVERY NIGHT and remember EVERYTHING
I can't remember a night when I didn't have a dream.
They are vivid and sometimes horrifying and I wake up the next morning crying
other times they are silly and make no sense at all.
Yes, I have definitely had the showing up at school naked dream. Never a fun one but SUCH a relief when I wake up the next day!

I have this silly little worry that when I have a baby someday that it will be the same size as my husband's head. haha we tease about it all the time because it would be incredibly painful.

Well, last night I dreamt of just that.
I got pregnant and when I was delivering the baby they gave me an epidural for the pain and I blacked out and couldn't remember delivering the baby. When I woke up I discovered that I delivered an 11 pound 3 ounce baby.
Yes you heard me correctly... 11 POUNDS!!
Man how can a woman possibly recover from that haha

So then the dream just took off from there... the baby had my husbands EXACT face so of course he was handsome as ever but had an adult head on a baby's body. It was a bit of a concern.

and since I passed out during the birth my husband decided to take the honor of naming our baby boy without me... and guess what he chose

PIXEL

Dear Dream Self,
I'm hoping this dream does not come true.
Love, Me

The Home of the Brave

We were so excited to have my mom, brother, and his girlfriend in town for the 4th of July. We went to Wingers (the boys favorite!), played frisbee golf, hiked, swam, had a bbq, and watched the BEST firework show I had ever seen! It was a great weekend and I couldn't have imagined spending it any other way!

The "sexy" poses:

I am so blessed to live in the United States and am grateful to all of those men who have served this country so that I have the freedoms that I do today! I am also grateful for the men who are still serving our country and away from their families. I love you Brendan. You will make one amazing Marine.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
